When you are a high school teacher the two significant types of classroom behavior that you come across is inappropriate behavior in the class as well as lousy study skills. Growing up also involves having some behavior issues for most children. For some, it is more severe than others. This behavior is what distinguishes the individual kids from the regular ones. Lets discuss several ways you can control classroom behavior.

Create behavior expectations and spell them out to the students. At the start of every school year tell the students what you expect. Create states that will keep the students in check from the first day they attend school. The laws should be a tradition for the students and involve the students in creating the rules. Create signs that become warning signs if someone is in the wrong. Be keen to see how well they are following the rules.,

Keep on checking if anyone has had any adverse reaction and offered them feedback. If you have a student who is continuously having lousy behavior keep a close eye on them and also avoid it at an early stage. When a student behaves in a bad away warn them using a stern voice and gestures. When the practice is right it will be nice if you reward them.

Reinforcement such us social, exercise, physical, consumable and harmful strengthening should be applied in making sure that the rules are followed. Instead if giving physical reward when someone has good behavior provide those tokens every time they are right. The symbols can be used later to backup reinforcement. If the students are more advanced in age you should use contingency contracts. The contact should be drafted by you and the student saying that when they behave appropriately they will be rewarded. Shaping is a word used to explain a method used to teaching good behavior in tiny bits. This technique can either be used to guide new behavior or reinforce the ones that already exist.

Explain your behavior expectations using a model. When one of the does something good use them to teach the others how they should behave. If you are dealing with a particular student use people of their age to teach the kind of behavior they should have. When you do this you teach the one who was wrong as well as the rest of the students. The students should be part of coming up with a behavioral program, for example, making the goals, being responsible of themselves not to make mistakes, doing a personal evaluation of how they have behaved and the reward they should get. The behavior management program should also include the parents.
